Farm visits

We offer FARM VISITS and an EDUCATIONAL ACCESS programme to schools, colleges, universities and community groups throughout Yorkshire.

We also offer no-cost outreach visits to give talks and presentations to schools, community and church groups across the North of England

We can provide opportunities to learn

  • how Heritage Sheep Breeds contribute to national food security, livestock biodiversity, and economic and environmental sustainability
  • how we can all benefit from becoming more reliant on the natural world of today and agricultural productivity - using the power of plants to provide our own food, feed for our animals, new sustainable fuels and materials, as well as renewable sources for our chemicals and medicines
  • how biology and science can work together with agriculture to benefit society

The Herdwicks are kept within a Natural England's Higher Level Environmental Stewardship Scheme.

Areas under stewardship involve woodland, wetlands, hay meadows and diversity-rich moorlands
